How We Support Our Team’s Work Life Balance

working in booth

In our world, work life and personal life are no longer siloed. Both demand our time and attention, but they shouldn’t be at odds with one another. To do our best, we must be at our best. And to be at our best, we need to have a common understanding of how we can plan and protect our time in a way that helps us take care of ourselves and our business.

My Time is our philosophy for how we view our individual time. Each of us has “my time on” and “my time off”—and sometimes “my time in between.” We all manage the rhythm of our own day, our own week, month, life. Saxum employees have to manage their time in a way that provides value to our company, our clients and our colleagues. Just as importantly, we protect time for our personal relationships, interests and whole selves. The two go hand in hand.

We don’t subscribe to the typical 9 to 5 workday, but we are ultimately accountable for our time. We don’t have a non-stop, nose to the grindstone environment, but as an agency, we’ll always have our faster-paced and demanding weeks. It’s in our DNA to work where we’re needed, when we’re needed—and then rest when it’s needed, too.

Here’s how we think about it:

My Time On – We show up as our best selves to deliver work that reflects our values – Brave, Original, Lively and Driven. This could be from a coffee shop, coworking space, Saxum office, your home, etc. We work where we’re needed.

My Time Off – We take time to unplug, rest, recharge and ensure our relationships are healthy in and out of work. Additionally, every team member has unlimited PTO and is required to take at least 15 days off a year, with at least 5 of those days being consecutive.

My Time In Between – We also recognize that we can’t always plan for what every day will bring. We leave space in our weekly rhythms for appointments, exercise, spiritual care, and other things each of us needs to stay physically and mentally healthy.

My Time is built on a critical mix of Flexibility, Trust and Accountability:

  • Flexible schedules & locations to meet each person’s individual needs
  • Trust that we are committed to each other
  • Accountability to deliver on what’s required of each of us and drive value for our clients and company

Our team deserves the support they need to achieve the best results for our clients. My Time gives them the space to make that happen.
