OKLAHOMA CITY –
Saxum, an integrated marketing communications agency offering public relations, advertising and digital services, recently announced the hiring of Blake Jackson as vice president, digital.
He will start with the agency on Sept. 24. In his new role, Jackson will be responsible for leading Saxum’s digital practice, developing digital strategies and managing the day-to-day direction of digital campaigns, programs, budgets, initiatives and client relationships. The digital practice was founded in 2008. He will be based in the firm’s Oklahoma City office.

Formerly manager of digital communications at Chesapeake Energy, Jackson brings a wealth of experience in digital strategy to Saxum. While at Chesapeake, he led a national digital communications and social media team responsible for building online communities in oil and natural gas operating areas across the country. Prior to joining Chesapeake, Jackson worked as a multimedia and social media specialist for a public relations firm in Denver and as a blogger and multimedia journalist for The Oklahoman newspaper.
This year, Jackson’s work was named one of seven national finalists for the coveted PR News’ 2012 Digital PR Awards in the digital crisis management category. He was a featured speaker on the topic of corporate social media at Ragan Communications conferences in 2010 and 2011, and his digital strategy has been recognized as an industry leader by the International Association of Business Communicators in Calgary, SocialMedia.org, Inc.com, PR Daily and the Nieman Journalism Lab, a project of Harvard University.
Jackson has a bachelor’s in journalism from Oklahoma Christian University.
