Saxum was challenged with providing traditional public relations support to spread awareness among the community and inform and educate key elected officials and business leaders about Walmart’s generosity and involvement in Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas.

Saxum distributed news releases announcing Walmart Foundation contributions in Arkansas and Kansas that were picked up by several media outlets in Arkansas, Kansas and Oklahoma. Saxum also coordinated several events for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and their foundation including a grant announcement at the Oklahoma State Capitol to Keep Oklahoma Beautiful  where then Lt. Governor Jari Askins was in attendance to help present the contribution.

Saxum also worked with corporate Walmart and Operation Homefront on a Today Show segment titled “Getting to the Heart of Christmas”, where military families in three different national markets were surprised with a Walmart Christmas Eve shopping spree.

Saxum worked with Walmart to promote several in-store promotions including a Made in Oklahoma Coalition and Walmart Partnership, promoting local products for the tailgating season.


In 2008 and 2009, Saxum earned 181 media hits with an estimated audience of more than 19 million 19,273,140 for Walmart and the Walmart Foundation.
