KIPP has seen tremendous growth over the years, but was working to earn the enrollment numbers to open a second charter school in Tulsa. KIPP challenged Saxum to help develop a communications plan that would include increasing brand awareness through building relationships with key community and thought leaders and the Tulsa media.
Saxum recommended building an integrated communications strategy that included key message development, media relations, digital, advertising and community engagement. Saxum created an editorial calendar for media relations and digital communications that would build awareness and educate the community about the KIPP program. Saxum identified key publications and media outlets for paid promotion strategies. In addition, Saxum identified key community and thought leaders to support the KIPP objectives and form a communications committee to help support the communications initiatives.
Saxum delivered a 16 page integrated communications plan. The plan extensively covered media relations, digital communication strategies and community relations tactics. This extensive plan provided KIPP with a communication road map so that they could reach their organizational goals.
