Tulsa Educare, Inc. (TEI), Tulsa Public Schools (TPS) and George Kaiser Family Foundation (GKFF) tasked Saxum with planning and executing the grand opening of Tulsa’s third Educare school in fall 2012. Saxum’s strategy included event coordination and planning, engaging media, leveraging influential figures and social media outreach.
To accomplish a flawless and publicized event, Saxum coordinated all logistics, developed and distributed media advisories, news releases, fact sheets and scripts, conducted media trainings, coordinated interviews and developed creative materials including an event program, signage and more.
Saxum also confirmed special guests to attend the event including Mr. George Kaiser, Michael Burke with the Buffett Early Childhood Fund, Tulsa Superintendent Keith Ballard and Oklahoma Superintendent Janet Barresi.
Saxum distributed a release and photos from the grand opening to Oklahoma media after the event. Saxum also developed social media messages for the grand opening and posted photos from the event. All major media outlets in the Tulsa market attended the grand opening event.
Saxum’s efforts to promote the grand opening resulted in more than 150 community leaders in attendance, garnered coverage in 16 media outlets across Oklahoma, including a front page feature article in The Tulsa World. The total estimated audience of the coverage was more than 613,212. The opening of Tulsa Educare 3 made Tulsa the only city in the nation with three schools and Oklahoma the only state in the nation with four Educare schools, further solidifying the state’s reputation as a leader in early childhood education.
